## Synopsis

Wednesday (2022-present) is a American streaming supernatural mystery comedy created by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough for Netflix. Jenna Ortega plays Wednesday Addams, the deadpan, sharply observant daughter of the Addams family, who is sent to Nevermore Academy, a gothic boarding school for outcast supernatural youths. Her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) is a cheerful outsider who contrasts with Wednesday's cool detachment, while Steve Buscemi plays Barry Dort, a weary school figure caught up in the school's tensions. Wednesday's engine is her restless urge to investigate twisted mysteries and expose hidden rivalries among students and staff, while navigating new friendships and enemies. Each season builds around a central mystery that unfolds across its eight episodes, blending procedural investigation with running character arcs and a continuing thread of community tension between human-looking residents and cryptid students. The tone is dark, witty and playful, with gothic atmosphere, morbid humor and a soundtrack that gives the eerie halls a melancholy edge. Fans of The Addams Family, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Harry Potter will find resonance in its blend of supernatural school life, deadpan heroine and macabre comedy. The series is a two-season Netflix production with a TV-14 rating.
