## Synopsis

Bocchi the Rock! (2022-present) is a Japanese animated slice of life comedy series produced by CloverWorks and aired on Gunma TV, TOKYO MX, BS11 and Tochigi TV. Its single season of twelve 24-minute episodes follows Hitori Gotoh, voiced by Yoshino Aoyama, a painfully shy high school student who dreams of playing in a band but freezes whenever she is around people. Her life changes when she is recruited as guitarist for a small group, where bandmates Nijika Ijichi, voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro, and Ryo Yamada, voiced by Saku Mizuno, pull her toward the stage. The engine of the show is her struggle with stage fright, social panic and self doubt, set against rehearsals, school routines, and the small hard-won moments of performing live in a modest local music scene. The tone is warm, nostalgic and funny, with exaggerated visual gags that turn anxiety into comedy while keeping an undercurrent of tenderness. Fans of K-On!, Lucky Star and Anohana will find resonance in its gentle friendship and music-centered coming of age story. Its mix of cringe humor and sincere feeling makes it a comforting choice for anyone who loves music and quiet underdog stories.
