## Synopsis

Murder Among the Mormons (2021) is a US true crime documentary limited series created by Jared Hess and Tyler Measom for Netflix. Across three roughly 46-minute episodes, the series rebuilds a deadly stretch of bombings in Salt Lake City that followed a web of forged historical documents tied to the Mormon church. Rather than following a single protagonist, it leans on interviews with people closest to the case, including former Assistant Church Historian Richard E. Turley Jr., Mark Hofmann's wife Dorie Hofmann Olds, rare document researcher Brent Metcalfe, former Utah news anchor Rod Decker, and Salt Lake City homicide prosecutor Gerry D'Elia. Their accounts are layered over investigators' recollections and forensic document examination, so the engine is the slow unraveling of a lie that grew too large to hold. Each episode trades in archival footage, careful timelines and the quiet dread of people realizing how close danger came to them. The tone is sober, investigative and unsettling, closer to a patient inquiry than sensational spectacle. Fans of The Jinx, Making a Murderer and Tiger King will find resonance in its blend of real crime, institutional secrets and dramatic human testimony, which unfolds as one continuous, tightly focused story.
