## Synopsis

Doctor Who Confidential (2005-2011) is a British behind-the-scenes documentary series created by Russell T Davies and Gillane Seaborne for BBC Three. It accompanies the revived Doctor Who, following the production of each weekly episode and speaking directly with the cast as themselves, including David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, Billie Piper, Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Catherine Tate. Rather than a story of its own, the series is built from interviews, rehearsal footage, set visits and sit-down reflections on what it takes to stage a family science fiction show on a modest budget. Each short episode airs on Saturdays immediately after the BBC One broadcast, with a cut-down edition for repeats, so it works as a quick companion to the drama it documents. Across six series it stays light, warm and affectionate, with an upbeat fan-facing register that rewards viewers already invested in the show. Fans of making-of featurettes, Torchwood companion material and other behind-the-scenes looks at long-running science fiction will find the same pleasure in seeing actors and crews at work. The overall atmosphere is cheerful, informal and generous toward its subject.
