## Synopsis

Q: Into the Storm (2021) is a American true events docuseries created by Cullen Hoback for HBO. Filmmaker Cullen Hoback follows the anonymous online persona known as Q over a three-year investigation, gaining access to key players in the movement. The engine of the show is a reporter's chase to unmask the people behind a faceless account, tracing how online message boards and conspiracy threads spread through real communities. Ron Watkins and Fredrick Brennan, both connected to the imageboard 8chan, appear as themselves alongside QTubers such as Craig James and Liz Crokin, along with reporters Will Sommer and Jared Holt who track the movement. Each episode builds on interviews, online archives, and confrontations that expose how information warfare shapes political belief. The six-episode limited series is presented as a documentary with a sober, investigative register, and its tone is tense and unsettling as it reveals how easily anonymity and conspiracy can gain traction. Viewers who enjoy investigative documentaries about internet subcultures and extremist movements will find resonance with Going Clear and Living Among Monsters. The series fits a current affairs audience and anyone trying to understand how misinformation travels online.
