## Synopsis

One Captain (2021) is an Italian miniseries created for Sky Atlantic, a six-episode dramedy following the final days of footballer Francesco Totti's playing career. Pietro Castellitto plays Totti, with Greta Scarano as Ilary Blasi, Gianmarco Tognazzi as coach Luciano Spalletti, and Monica Guerritore as Fiorella Totti. The engine of the story is an aging captain trying to decide how to leave the field he has defined for decades, while the pressures of public fame, family life and a changing club pull him in different directions. Each episode moves through training grounds, locker rooms, home life and the crowded streets of Rome, where a football icon is never simply a private man. The show is a limited series of one season and six episodes, with a grounded, reflective register that mixes humor and melancholy. Its tone is wistful and warm, closer to a character study than a match-by-match sports drama. Fans of The Last Dance, Diego Maradona and Italian character dramas will find resonance in its portrait of a legend confronting mortality, identity and the end of glory.
