## Synopsis

Aquaman (1967-1968) is an American animated superhero series created by Filmation Associates for CBS. Running for one season of 36 half-hour episodes, it follows the undersea hero Aquaman and his young sidekick Aqualad as they face villains and rescue people from ocean peril. Its adventures are assembled from earlier Filmation broadcasts, a 30-minute version of The Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure with the Superman and Superboy segments removed. Stories regularly widen into team outings with the Atom, the Flash, Kid Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman, and the Justice League of America and Teen Titans also appear in group adventures. Voice work by Marvin Miller and Ted Knight gives the episodes a brisk, earnest, straightforward tone typical of 1960s Saturday morning television. The stories are simple, self-contained, and gently heroic, with bright color, clear moral stakes and little menace. Fans of Super Friends and classic DC cartoons will find the same kind of kid-friendly superhero team energy here, with an undersea twist on the heroic ensemble format.
