A.R.O.G
A wildly inventive science fiction comedy, A.R.O.G. plunges a bewildered modern man into prehistoric times with the improbable mission of accelerating human civilization. Stripped of his contemporary comforts and burdened with advanced knowledge, Arif’s attempts to introduce concepts like football (soccer) to cavepeople become a hilariously chaotic clash of eras, while simultaneously grappling with the unexpected consequences of altering the past—and a surprisingly timely pregnancy. The film’s humor isn’t derived from simple fish-out-of-water gags, but from the earnest, often-misguided efforts to impose progress on a world utterly unprepared for it, creating a uniquely absurd and surprisingly poignant meditation on cultural evolution and the meaning of “advancement.”
