Cabin Fever
A claustrophobic and increasingly paranoid horror film, *Cabin Fever* traps five recent college graduates in a remote woodland cabin as a sexually-transmitted, flesh-eating virus rapidly spreads through their group. Beyond typical slasher tropes, the film focuses on the mounting psychological distress as the friends isolate themselves, battling not only a gruesome physical deterioration but also the distrust and escalating violence born from their confinement and the looming threat from the deeply unsettling, protective locals. The escalating infection isn't simply a physical horror, but a catalyst for fractured friendships and a desperate, increasingly frantic fight for survival against both the unseen disease and the chillingly pragmatic community who view them as a contamination risk. The film’s unsettling tone isn’t rooted in jump scares, but in the slow burn of creeping dread and the growing realization that help isn’t coming, replacing conventional horror scares with a growing sense of inevitable decay.
