What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Captain Salazar escapes the Devil's Triangle as a deadly ghost pirate and relentlessly hunts Jack Sparrow.
The Trident of Poseidon motivates the central treasure hunt and promises total control of the seas.
The film pairs Jack Sparrow's zany escapades with ghost pirates, zombie sharks, and large-scale seafaring action.
Salazar's vendetta is rooted in his history with Jack, making the hero's past the source of the new threat.
