What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Stephen Wilson abandons his assignment to stalk Joanna Eris, whose abandonment trauma mirrors his own estrangement from his daughter.
Stephen's separation from his wife and daughter parallels Joanna's fixation on her absent father and her repeated 'Merry Christmas, Daddy' ritual.
Joanna travels through numerous major U.S. cities under different names while leaving victims behind.
The Eye's haunting memory of his daughter and Joanna's ritualized murders merge subjective trauma with a stylized crime world.
