What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The family is ordered to remain confined in the desert, making isolation the film's central social and psychological pressure.
The Saudi desert is not merely a backdrop; its remoteness and scarcity intensify the family's struggle for survival.
The grandfather's strict instructions and the family's nomadic, tribal context frame the mystery through inherited authority and communal rules.
The family's actions are governed by the grandfather's instructions, while successive events test the legitimacy of that authority.
