What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The Leprechaun's killings, sarcastic dialogue, gambling premise, and deliberately exaggerated creature behavior combine horror with overt camp.
The gold coin grants Scott a winning streak, but possession places him in the Leprechaun's path and drives the central conflict.
Leprechaun blood infects Scott, causing him to become a taller Leprechaun while he seeks help and weighs destroying the gold.
Las Vegas casinos provide the main arena for Scott's gambling hopes, the crooked casino operator, and the Leprechaun's pursuit of gold.
