What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Dr Nookey's disgrace, sudden celebrity, and conflict with Dr Carver turn professional status into a recurring source of comic reversal.
Gladstone Screwer's secret slimming potion drives Nookey's rise, the commercial scheme, and attempts by others to exploit or expose him.
The story shifts from a remote island hospital to England as Nookey's fortunes change and competing characters pursue him.
The Carry On framework, hospital setting, secret potion, sexual mishap, and large comic cast support an overtly broad farcical register.
