What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Laura’s relationship to the rural family and the meaning of her sudden involvement are presented through unresolved contradictions.
After Jakob’s fatal car accident, Laura’s life as a withdrawn music student is redirected into an unfamiliar family dynamic.
The German countryside provides an apparently welcoming setting whose domestic calm is shadowed by loss, secrecy, and emotional dislocation.
The family’s hospitality and Laura’s participation in their routines conceal questions about motive, belonging, and memory.
