What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Pluke's Chatlanian and Patsak divisions organize everyday life through badges, etiquette, and threats of punishment.
The stranded travelers encounter ludicrous customs and characters while the film sustains melancholy reflections on human society.
Pluke is rendered as an austere desert world of strange spacecraft, sparse settlements, and stark encounters.
The planet's institutions turn domination into everyday procedure, paralleling the film's critique of Soviet-era and broader bureaucratic structures.
