What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday are presented as legendary Wild West personalities within a glossy Hollywood version of Tombstone history.
The disciplined marshal Wyatt Earp relies on the terminally ill gambler Doc Holliday when the Clanton feud reaches its breaking point.
The story spends most of its running time developing the Earp-Clanton feud and only briefly depicts the famous O.K. Corral gunfight.
The film is carefully and lavishly mounted, using color photography, large-scale action, and a driving Dimitri Tiomkin score.
