What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
François and René return from suspension to confront replacements who are even more crooked, turning police corruption into the film's main comic engine.
François's moral crisis clashes with René's pragmatic outlook as the two partners navigate professional and criminal pressure together.
The returning protagonists face newly installed police partners whose misconduct raises the stakes of the original duo's dilemma.
The Paris police setting, crooked cops, false accusations, and comic criminal schemes place the film within a recognizable French crime-comedy tradition.
