What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Thomas and Jack pursue an escalating cat-and-mouse game that extends from the Mojave into Los Angeles.
The Mojave escape becomes the setting for the protagonists' first lethal confrontation and the film's atmosphere of exposure.
After an innocent third party is killed, both men try to frame the other for the death.
Thomas's Hollywood status contrasts with his failing marriage, custody fears, and dissatisfaction with his life.
