What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Richard and Gabrielle create the imagined Rick and Gaby espionage plot while shaping it around their own emerging relationship.
The screenplay deadline, producer expectations, typist-writer collaboration, and imagined movie roles turn filmmaking into a romantic negotiation.
The fabricated espionage caper, stolen Eiffel Tower premise, and exaggerated imagined identities create a knowingly preposterous comic register.
Richard's Paris workspace combines the City of Light's romantic allure with a two-day screenplay crisis and an approaching producer.
