What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Jane and Jake Adler resume an affair a decade after their divorce while maintaining other romantic relationships.
Jane's bakery, kitchen, cooking, and elaborate meals repeatedly provide the film's social setting and sensual texture.
The central affair involves mature former spouses, while Jane and Jake's attraction is presented as lively and consequential rather than finished.
Jane and Jake's renewed affair disrupts their children, family events, and existing personal lives.
