What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Ben and George are forced to sell their Manhattan apartment after George loses his job, making temporary separation a consequence of New York real estate pressures.
The wedding and nearly four decades of shared life between Ben and George anchor the film's emotional perspective.
Ben's stay with his nephew's family and shared bunk bed with Joey intensify tensions across age, temperament, and family roles.
The film focuses on apartments, bedrooms, family routines, and intimate performances rather than heightened cinematic spectacle.
