What critics said
Critics broadly found the film entertaining and buoyed by Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif's chemistry, though some objected to its juvenile slapstick and familiar romantic formula.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Premshankar and Jenny's relationship is foregrounded through the Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif pairing, which critics repeatedly identified as the film's central pleasure.
A statue in the town square narrates Premshankar's story to a journalist before the main romantic plot unfolds.
Premshankar assumes Jenny loves him and helps her elope, only to discover that her true love is Rahul.
The Happy Club, Premshankar's stutter and mischief, the dilapidated-flat scheme, and the film's broad jokes establish an intentionally wacky style.
