What critics said
Critics broadly regarded the film as a weak, low-quality comedy horror whose broad jokes and muddled execution do not capitalize on its monster premise.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film turns Transylvanian castles, vampires, werewolves, mummies, and a Frankenstein search into broad comic set pieces.
Jack and Gil are dispatched to find the Frankenstein monster as the central assignment driving their investigation.
Tabloid reporters Jack Harrison and Gil Turner confront supernatural suspects and dangers despite their clumsy, ill-equipped approach.
Transylvania is populated by oddball characters, a clumsy butler, a vampiress, a semi-mad doctor, and assorted monsters.
