Critics generally found the film entertainingly loopy and committed to its lack of seriousness, but too structurally sloppy and inconsistent to fully cohere.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film treats brain replacement, resurrection, revenge, and mad-scientist experimentation as knowingly ridiculous genre spectacle.
William Cole has part of his brain replaced by Russian cab driver Yegor, forcing their uneasy partnership.
William and Yegor are radically different men who collaborate after discovering that the same woman killed them both.
Brain surgery, head injury, resurrection, and altered identity provide the film's central physical gag and horror imagery.
