What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film uses its 1981 summer-camp setting, adolescent romance, talent-show climax, and melodramatic crises as material for affectionate parody.
Beth, Henry, Coop, Katie, Andy, J.J., and numerous campers carry intersecting plots involving love triangles, rescues, camp management, and an incoming Skylab fragment.
Talking vegetable cans and a deadly piece of NASA's Skylab push the camp story beyond realistic comic complications.
Camp Firewood concentrates cool kids, misfits, counselors, romances, and unresolved personal business into one final day before everyone returns to ordinary life.
