What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Reggie's search for Mike and the film's emphasis on their enduring relationship anchor the supernatural sequel.
Reggie moves from desert pursuit to an institution and then another dimension while the mystery of Mike remains unstable.
The film combines consumer-camera visual texture and low-grade CGI spheres with surreal supernatural settings.
The Tall Man and lethal flying spheres function as the central recognizable symbols of the Phantasm series.
