What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Aydın, Nihal, Necla, and other residents repeatedly expose their motives and resentments through extended confrontations and debates.
The hotel and surrounding central Anatolian snow create a sheltering yet claustrophobic environment that intensifies the characters' animosities.
Former actor and hotel owner Aydın presents himself as cultivated and responsible while exerting influence over his wife, sister, employees, and local dependents.
The film slowly complicates Aydın's disputes with Nihal, Necla, and the people affected by his property and social position rather than assigning simple innocence or guilt.
