What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The three aliens absorb American language, behavior, and style through television after arriving in Valerie's home.
The Southern California setting, colorful alien makeovers, dancing, and music-video sensibility give the film a vivid pop surface.
Valerie rejects her cheating fiancé and begins reshaping her life after the collapse of her expected wedding future.
Television serves as the aliens' primary guide to American speech, fashion, romance, and social behavior.
