What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The investigation centers on face-saving, cronyism, and concealed wrongdoing within Fort MacCallum and its command structure.
The murdered captain is found naked and staked out, while the investigation repeatedly confronts brutal sexual assault and misogynistic imagery.
The story unfolds at a Georgia army base where military power and a Southern Gothic sense of secrecy intensify the homicide investigation.
CID detectives Paul Brenner and Sarah Sunhill must navigate contradictory accounts, political pressure, and deliberate face-saving during the inquiry.
