What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Dinesh D'Souza challenges what he portrays as revisionist shaming of the United States and presents American exceptionalism as a central defense.
The film includes portrayals of Frederick Douglass, Saul Alinsky, and young George Washington within its political historical case.
Its premise focuses on alleged lies and omissions by educational and political institutions in presenting United States history.
D'Souza appears as himself, addresses contemporary political figures including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and uses archive footage to advance an explicit ideological thesis.
