What critics said
Critics broadly recognized the film as an outrageous, hilarious horror comedy whose absurd premise and gore are entertaining but whose effects and sexualized exploitation elements can overwhelm its comic strengths.
What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film repeatedly turns exploding bodies, reanimation, and medical experimentation into deliberately comic set pieces.
The reassembled body, exploding prostitutes, and grotesque transformations are foregrounded through practical effects.
Jeffrey responds to Elizabeth's lawnmower death by pursuing reanimation and harvesting body parts from other women.
The red light district, prostitution-based body harvesting, and softcore-adjacent imagery are treated as knowingly excessive genre material.
