What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Hagan, Woody, Zach, and Herman are accidental armor bearers whose incompetence and friction drive the humor.
The alien transmission, power armor, training premise, and 1980s-inflected comic tone foreground familiar genre mythology.
The single alien battle suit is divided among four people, making its malfunctioning components the plot's central mechanism.
Four unprepared civilians must cooperate with the government and train to defend Earth after the armor attaches to them.
