What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Allen Gamble and Terry Hoitz are sidelined detectives whose cautious, dysfunctional partnership contrasts with the reckless hero cops they idolize.
The central investigation follows shady capitalist David Ershon and turns a police farce toward critiques of speculative wealth and corporate irresponsibility.
The film is built around over-the-top action set pieces, including carjacking, dangerous leaps, and chaotic police operations.
The protagonists are disgraced detectives relegated to paperwork and must overcome institutional marginalization to earn meaningful police work.
