What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Melissa's white-clad apparition, colored lighting, elaborate villa interiors, and optical distortions turn the village into a delirious visual nightmare.
The ghost of Melissa drives the deaths of villagers while embodying the Baroness Graps's grief and hatred.
Dr. Eswai enters a secluded Carpathian village where suspicious deaths, local superstition, and the Villa Graps shape every interaction.
Critics specifically identify the film's Gothic horror as a bad-acid-trip fusion, supported by vivid color, elaborate production design, and jolting camera tricks.
