What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Alex and Ruth’s long-occupied New York apartment embodies their marriage, routines, and accumulated memories as they consider leaving it.
The couple’s planned move is complicated by real estate pressures and the changing value of their apartment.
The film builds its lighter moments from Alex and Ruth’s familiar disagreements, affection, and shared domestic behavior.
The central moving crisis is accompanied by parallel developments involving other New Yorkers and the apartment’s wider social context.
