Jason, Billy, Zack, Kimberly, and Trini begin as disconnected high-school outcasts before receiving powers and becoming the Power Rangers.
The film reintroduces the Power Rangers, Zordon, Rita Repulsa, ranger identities, and alien technology in a contemporary feature-film continuity.
The central team consists of bullied or isolated teenagers whose personal differences initially obstruct, then ultimately enable, their collective transformation.
