What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Petrie's difficulty flying in formation and his friendship with Guido lead him to embrace standing out rather than copying the group.
The Day of the Flyers gives Petrie a public event to prepare for while measuring himself against expected flying formations.
Flying practice, formation work, and the Flyers celebration organize the film around dinosaur aviation and movement through the sky.
Guido is a Microraptor who does not know what he is or where he belongs, prompting Petrie to reconsider his own place in the group.
