What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Nanni Moretti plays a version of himself while dramatizing his filmmaking decisions, political concerns, and impending fatherhood.
The stalled election documentary develops alongside Nanni's preoccupation with his newborn son's first days.
Nanni abandons a musical on its first shooting day and struggles to begin the documentary his crew expects.
The film's election backdrop and Nanni's worries are filtered through dry, self-conscious comic behavior.
