What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film places Bing Crosby and Bob Hope's comic partnership at the center of a free-wheeling journey toward Bali.
The Road films are associated with irreverent, self-aware gags and the stars' deliberately loose relationship to the story.
The divers discover a chest of priceless jewels, attracting the attention of shady locals and redirecting the romantic adventure toward comic intrigue.
The film was made in Technicolor and presents an idyllic island setting through musical numbers and heightened adventure imagery.
