What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The rescue party navigates uncharted Appalachian caverns, making tight passages, darkness, and entrapment central sources of fear.
Sarah emerges confused and blood-covered, faces mistrust from authorities and rescuers, and is haunted by visions of the recent cave ordeal.
The rescue mission descends into mounting danger, futility, and a final struggle for deliverance rather than offering reassuring heroism.
The Crawlers are characterized as inbred, savage, and ruthlessly hostile creatures stalking the rescue team underground.
