What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Patrick, Jack, and Lu form an emotionally divided but interdependent trio whose survival requires them to overcome deep resentment.
The survivors inhabit the forgotten, snow-covered town of Harmony, and the cold shapes their isolation and defenses.
The infected can survive the cold, are blind, and no longer transmit infection through flesh wounds, revising standard zombie conventions.
The film spends much of its opening establishing the calm, isolation, and bad blood between Patrick and Jack before the infected return.
