What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Jessie Davis leads a rock and roll rally against Principal McGree and Doctor Vadar's restrictive school regime.
Doctor Vadar wants Ronald Reagon High run like a prison, making institutional repression central to the comedy.
The school dance and rock and roll rally function as the students' central tools of resistance.
Doctor Vadar is presented as an absurdly fascistic principal figure opposing the students' musical freedom.
