What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The stranded crew spends five days awaiting rescue in the Philippine Sea while suffering thirst, hunger, and shark attacks.
The story follows the USS Indianapolis crew after an atomic weapons delivery during World War II.
The shark attacks are presented through effects critics described as garish, unconvincing, and Sharknado-style.
Captain McVay and the crew struggle together against isolation, dehydration, starvation, hallucinations, and repeated attacks.
