What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Joe, Willie, and Albert respond to pension insecurity by planning a bank robbery rather than passively accepting financial hardship.
The friends' former employer and pension problems create the material pressure driving the heist.
Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, and Alan Arkin anchor the film through contrasting warmth, worry, and gruff flirtatiousness.
The three retirees plan a robbery despite having little practical knowledge, including uncertainty about handling a gun.
