What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The film follows Alfie and Helena, Sally and Roy, and their various new attractions across connected storylines.
Fortune telling, coincidences, reversals, and characters' anxious attempts to control romance support this recurring worldview.
The couples navigate London careers, art-world aspirations, publishing ambitions, divorce, and attempts to reinvent themselves.
The film uses London as an attractive urban environment while contrasting its beauty with marital dissatisfaction and self-deception.
