What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The five former teammates reunite decades after their 1978 basketball championship and attempt to restore their connection.
The central friends are grown men facing drinking, divorce, unemployment, domestic pressure, and entitled children while reverting to old behaviors.
The lake-house weekend combines spouses, children, ex-partners, and extended-family tensions with the friends’ efforts to party outdoors.
The reunion takes place at a house on a lake where the friends partied as youths, turning a recreational retreat into the film’s main social arena.
