What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Provo escapes with the specific goal of killing Sam Burgade, while Burgade abandons retirement to pursue him.
The story depicts the early twentieth-century suppression of the Wild West and contrasts Burgade's methods with the younger sheriff's faith in the telephone.
Provo's kidnapping of Susan Burgade compels the retired lawman to strap on his guns and resume the chase.
The film's horseback tracking, gunfights, night chase, and handsome 20th Century Fox production values define its visual appeal.
