What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
The citrine-like Dreamstone motivates Maxwell Lord, Barbara Minerva, and Diana through its ability to fulfill wishes.
The story places superhero action, consumer culture, fashion, and Cold War-era anxiety within 1984 Washington and surrounding locations.
Diana's emotional dilemma links personal longing to the need to protect the world from catastrophic consequences.
Maxwell Lord's rise is fueled by escalating desire, false promises, and the destabilizing effects of granting everyone what they want.
