What sets it apart
May contain story progression spoilers
Roger is celebrated as a fishing expert despite never having fished, and must maintain the deception when entered into a contest.
Abigail aggressively destabilizes Roger's respectable identity while their hostility gradually becomes romantic attraction.
The fishing contest and sporting environments provide a bright, energetic setting for physical comedy and romantic disorder.
Rock Hudson was positioned in a difficult comic role echoing Cary Grant, while Paula Prentiss was compared to Katharine Hepburn's screwball persona.
